Leda and the Swan – Sposari
63 Via Francesco Todaro, Tripi
Mappa
It is said that Zeus, enamored with Leda, the Queen of Sparta, transformed into a swan to seduce her on the banks of the river Eurotas.
From their union, the woman laid two eggs, which later became Helen and Pollux.
As Leda was the queen of Sparta and the wife of Tyndareus, it is believed that from this originated the dynasty of the Tyndarids, from which also derived the Sicels settlement known as Tindari.
