EOS - no Neptune
Piazza del risveglio - Tripi
The Goddess with rosé fingers
The "goddess with rosé fingers," is the name Homer calls Eos, because of the pink color of the morning sky.
The Romans called her "Aurora" (dawn) because of her golden color.
Eos, the goddess of dawn, opens the golden gates of a new day.
On her head and her feet, so many flowers and leaves suit her best.
She is beautiful, but her gaze is veiled in melancholy because her beloved son Memnon was killed by Achilles.
Every morning, Eos weeps for her death, and her tears, falling to the Earth, form the dew.
